In general, sources should be:
* Factual, anyone can produce web content or present themselves as an authority on a subject, yet misinformation and falsehoods can always happen. Referencing content on social media platforms (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) should always be avoided with certain exceptions, such as direct quotations or self-descriptions from the subject of an article.
* Agitative, sources should be supportive of the interests and struggles of the working class and not operated by the rich to act as their mouthpiece. One of Revolupedia's aims is to provide an introduction to relevant topics and to allow people to locate further information for study. Such information should, therefore, be radical and assist in our goals of building a revolutionary movement.
* Accessible, information should be accessible to everyone who seeks it, and therefore, not trapped behind corporate pay-walls. Sources demanding payment to view partially or wholly are strongly discouraged.

In order to be respected as a reliable source of information for activists and revolutionaries, all content on Revolupedia must be verifiable and well-sourced. All contributors are expected to reasonably provide references for all claims.

Standards

In general, sources should be:

 • Factual, anyone can produce web content or present themselves as an authority on a subject, yet misinformation and falsehoods can always happen. Referencing content on social media platforms (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) should always be avoided with certain exceptions, such as direct quotations or self-descriptions from the subject of an article.
 • Agitative, sources should be supportive of the interests and struggles of the working class and not operated by the rich to act as their mouthpiece. One of Revolupedia's aims is to provide an introduction to relevant topics and to allow people to locate further information for study. Such information should, therefore, be radical and assist in our goals of building a revolutionary movement.
 • Accessible, information should be accessible to everyone who seeks it, and therefore, not trapped behind corporate pay-walls. Sources demanding payment to view partially or wholly are strongly discouraged.

Books & text resources

Books and writing have always been a key aspects of all parts of the revolutionary communist movement. Because of the proliferation of the internet, it has never been easier to have access to books from all over the world and often for free.

Public domain

Books written by authors who are probably long dead are under the public domain and can be shared freely by anyone. These are compiled in many different places online but with varying quality.

Books and Texts
Name URL Notes
Project Gutenburg www.gutenberg.org/ Large collection of free e-Books with a focus on literature.
Wikisource en.wikisource.org/ A project focusing on providing high quality versions of source texts and translations.
Marxists Internet Archive www.marxists.org/ Large collection of writing by Marxist writers and other socialists. However, please be aware of the anti-Stalinist stances of its maintainers, particularly in original content such as their encyclopedia.
Marx to Mao www.marx2mao.com/ A collection of books and other writings which are more Marxist–Leninist orientated (focused on Lenin, Stalin, etc.). Appears to be HTTP-only.

Questionable sources

There are many websites online that provide collections of more recent e-books and texts of books which may be in violation of capitalist intellectual property. The largest of these is the Z-Library project which contains over 10,000,000 books and over 80,000,000 articles.[1] Use at your own discretion.

Newspapers & related publications

Several newspapers have a good online version for free and have resources relevant to socialist politics and organizing.
