The so-called third position refers to a number of reactionary, often fascist political ideologies which claim to offer an alternative to both capitalism and socialism. Third positionism is fundamentally erroneous and deceitful, for there can be no other ideology but bourgeois and proletarian ones in the context of capitalism. In truth, third position ideologies are capitalist in all but name, placing even more brutal forms of oppression onto the proletariat than under previous forms of capitalist governance via arrangements like corporatism.
