Foco[a] is a guerilla organizational theory developed by Ernesto "Che" Guevara. This theory advocates for small units of guerilla fighters starting their warfare in countryside and moving towards urban centers. This is a supposed application of Marxism–Leninism to Latin America. This is an incorrect assumption when we consider how this theory worked in Latin America. Foco theory would later be adopted by Red Army Faction and Irish Republican Army
