Kyuichi Tokuda, (Japanese: 徳田 球一; September 12, 1894 – October 14, 1953) was a Japanese Communist, lawyer and the first Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party. He was imprisoned by the Japanese fascist government, he opposed the Fascist invasion of China, after the war he would be released and would later survive an assassination attempt in 1948, multiple Japanese Communist members were purged by the American occupation. Tokuda would later flee to the People's Republic of China where he would live out the rest of his days.[1]
