Muammar al-Gaddafi in 2009

Gaddafism (also Third International theory or Third Universal theory) is a syncretic ideology developed by the Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi. Most of this ideology was established through The Green Book.

Characteristics

Gaddafism combines elements of Arab and African nationalism, Nasserism, Islamism, populism and direct democracy.

Non-Alignment

Gaddafi was inspired by Three Worlds Theory and wanted to establish new ideology, as he saw capitalism and Marxism–Leninism as failed ideologies.
