Google LLC is a megacorporation based in the United States. Among the two largest internet-based services owned by Google are Google Search and YouTube. YouTube alone is accessed by an estimated 122 million people on a daily basis.[1] Google’s proprietary web browser, Chrome, is likewise very popular, being in use on over 65% of all desktop and mobile devices as of August 2024.[2] Despite the near-omnipresent usage of its platforms, Google has adopted a model premised on mass surveillance and invasion of privacy.[3] Google, alongside other large US technology corporations such as Apple, is a known member of the United States government's PRISM surveillance program.[4]
