Asia is a continent.[a] With land area of over 43.4 million km2 and population of 4.8 billion people,[b][1] it is the largest of all the continents in measures of graphical size and population, occupying around 30% of Earth's total land. It is part of the same landmass as Europe and Africa.[2]
