The Communist (Maoist) Party of Afghanistan (CMPA) previously known as the Communist Party of Afghanistan, is an underground Marxist-Leninist-Maoist political party in Afghanistan. The party was founded in 2004 through the merger of 5 parties to combat the American occupiers, after the Americans left they changed their goal to overthrow the Taliban Government. They were a member of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement.
History
Following the 2001 US invasion of Afghanistan, the United States established an afghan puppet state called the "Islamic Republic of Afghanistan", as a response 5 communist parties formed the CMPA to combat American imperialism in Afghanistan, during the unity congress.
