The Kingdom of Bahrain more commonly known as Bahrain is a country in the middle east in the Arabian Gulf, it comprises a small archipelago of 50 natural islands and an additional 33 artificial islands, centered on Bahrain Island in which the majority of the country including it's capital Manama is situated.
The country was a British colony from the 19th century until 1971 when they declared independence from the British Empire on the 14th of August 1971 which was recognised the following day. It was declared the State of Bahrain, and which was later succeeded by the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 14th of February 2002. The country's royal family was critizised for human rights violations of groups including dissidents, political opposition figures, and its Shia Muslim population.
The country later discovered oil which caused an economic boom, since then the country has gotten relatively wealthy since and is known as the party capital of Arabia.
Government and politics
Despite having Sharia law applied in it's constitution and having a very Dogmatic and Conservative constitution, the laws puts in to effective are more liberal than conservative. The country is under a semi-constitutional Monarchy with a very Conservative and Anti-Communist.
