Socialist Republic of Romania

The Socialist Republic of Romania,^[a] initially known as the Romanian People's Republic^[b] from 1947 to 1965, was a socialist state formed in 1947 after the abolition of the Kingdom of Romania. It was ruled by the Communist Party of Romania.
