Critical support
"Critical support" is a phrase often used by modern revisionists in reference to their support of imperialist states such as Russian Federation and other reactionary regimes like Iran. Revisionists argue that by "critically supporting" these countries, they are able to acknowledge their flaws while still supporting the supposedly progressive aspects of these countries. However, "critical support" as applied by revisionists most frequently acts as a mechanism to deny any wrongdoing on the part of these countries, asserting that any attempts to criticize these countries makes one an asset in Western propaganda, effectively making this "critical" support uncritical.
