Tamil Eelam (Tamil: தமிழீழம், tamiḻ īḻam; generally rendered outside Tamil-speaking areas as தமிழ் ஈழம்) is a colonized nation of people, known as Eelam Tamils, who predominantly live in the northeastern province of the Island country of Sri Lanka.

Tamil Genocide

A majority Hindu population with a Muslim and Christian minority, the Eelam Tamils have been oppressed and is facing a genocide by the Buddhist supremacist Sinhalese state.

Foreign imperialist powers like the State of Israel and the People's Republic of China has aided the Sinhalese government militarily to suppress the Eelam Tamil people.

There have been attempts to liberate Tamil Eelam for their self determination, famously from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) during the Sri Lankan civil war, which was met brutally by the Sinhalese state.
