The "Red Path" or "Sendero Rojo" refers to period in the history of the Peruvian Communist Party following the capture of Chairman Gonzalo. During this period the PCP was lead primarily by Comrade Feliciano along with other members of the old Central Committee. This period began in 1992 and ended in 1999 when Comrade Feliciano and other Central Committee members were captured in "Operación Cerco 99". Many opportunist cliques were fought during this period such as the capitulationists and the "left"-opportunist line (Militarized Communist Party of Peru). During this period the Peruvian people's war continued to advance under the leadership of Comrade Feliciano and the old central committee despite the PCP going into general reorganization in 1995.
