Idealism

Idealism is a philosophical position which which posits that human ideals and thought are the ultimate sources of truth and the material world is secondary. Idealism stands in contradiction to materialism, which understands thought and consciousness to be creations and extensions of material reality. Idealism has underwent many different iterations, and has been upheld by thinkers such as Plato, Kant, and Hegel.[1]
