The American Communist Party (ACP) is a neo-fascist cult based in the United States which adheres to the reactionary patriotic socialist tendency. The organization was founded on July 21, 2024 by multiple internet personalities associated with chauvinistic and eclectic positions, most notably Haz al-Din,[a] Jackson Hinkle, and Eddie "Liger" Smith.
The leadership of the ACP employs abusive, cult-like tactics to manipulate the behavior of members and suppress criticism.[1] These abuses are particularly present with the ACP's leader, Haz al-Din, who dominates the organization with little accountability. This is in tandem with the homophobic, misogynist, transphobic, and racist environment of the ACP.[2]
The organization claimed to have formed after members of the Communist Party USA split to join the ACP, with the names of 26 CPUSA clubs being featured on their opening declaration.[3] It was later shown that these signatures of support were fabricated.[4]
Ideology
The American Communist Party claims adherence to the "Unified Tendency of Marxism–Leninism" but in fact belongs to the social-fascist "patriotic socialist" tendency and its leadership, namely Haz al-Din and Jackson Hinkle, are associated with "MAGA Communism". The "MAGA Communist" movement seeks to employ pseudo-Marxist symbols and rhetoric to appeal to the most backwards section of the United States working class and petite bourgeoisie who support Donald Trump. In its program, the ACP denies the settler-colonial nature of the United States' founding and calls for the "Promotion of American Civilization".
Foreign policy
The ACP is avidly pro-Russia and China. Regarding Russia, it supports its imperialist war in Ukraine, stating that "today, as 80 years ago, Russia remains at the forefront of the world liberation movement".[5] The party, while claiming to support China's Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, supports the capitalist roaders' Reform and Opening-Up and claims that Xi Jinping Thought is the "latest synthesis of Marxism."[6]
Composition
Membership and chapters
The ACP claims on their "Blockchain Ledger" to have hundreds of members in various chapters.[7] However, the membership of the ACP were largely recruited from various social media platforms, most of whom lacking any experience in political activism, and whose primary mode of "party work" is social media activity. The leading organ of the ACP, the "Executive Board" is reported to be entirely unaccountable, unelected, and focused on its own interests (usually online publicity for their own accounts) rather than those of party members.[8]
In late 2024, Haz al-Din stated that each chapter was expected to be monetarily "profitable" and operated as a business, to which the leadership of the ACP could reap a portion of their earnings. He further stated that ACP members and chapters were free to act as "ethical landlords".[9]
Plenary Committee
The leading organ of the ACP when it was initially established was a "Plenary Committee" of 10 individuals. The members of this organ were:[3]
- Haz al-Din, online political debate personality who dominates the Infrared media collective. De-facto leader of the party.
- Noah Khrachvik, member of the "Midwestern Marx" collective.
- Jackson Hinkle, online personality known for circulating right-wing propaganda on his show The Dive.
- Christopher Helali, former member of the social-chauvinist Party of Communists USA.
- Kyle Pettis
- Henry Ahmad, Infrared showrunner.
- Carlos Garrido, writer for the "Midwestern Marx" collective.
- Rev Laskaris
- Eddie "Liger" Smith, online personality associated with the "Midwestern Marx" collective.
- Grayson Preutz, Infrared showrunner.
International relations
The American Communist Party, alongside the Center for Political Innovation, is a member of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, a social-imperialist international organization dedicated to supporting Chinese and Russian imperialism.[10] Additionally, the ACP has been supported by elements within other revisionist organizations such as Communist Party of Georgia and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
