RationalWiki is a liberal and anti-communist MediaWiki site. It was created in 2007 to counter Conservapedia, a Christian fundamentalist website, after an incident in which some editors of Conservapedia were banned.
The websites functions as a hub for various bourgeois pseudo-intellectuals to promote anti-communist propaganda, even though the main focus of the website is allegedly to combat right-wingers.
Positions
RationalWiki is fiercely anti-communist and subscribes to the narrative upheld by Western intelligence agencies. It claims revolutionary communist figures such as Vladimir Lenin,[1] Joseph Stalin,[2] and Mao Zedong[3] were "dictators" without proper sourcing.
RationalWiki claims that the Soviet famine of 1932–1933 was a "Holodomor" (deliberate genocide) which killed "between 2 and 10 million people",[4] a stance which even most bourgeois academics do not hold. It makes similar claims against Mao, claiming he killed "40 to 70 million people".[3]
