MediaWiki is free and open-source software which features collaborative editing among users and viewing of pages and entries on websites via a web browser. It was initially developed for use with Wikipedia in 2002, and has since seen use with other wikis and similar websites into the present, including with online encyclopedias such as Revolupedia.^[1]^[2]
