Enver Hoxha, the namesake of Hoxhaism

Hoxhaism is a term used to refer to followers of Enver Hoxha and the Party of Labor of Albania more broadly. The degree of support Hoxha's adherents provide to him differs wildly, with some (often self-described as "Stalinists–Hoxhaists")[1] even regarding him as a foundational figure of Marxism, while others (e.g. the American Party of Labor) perceive him as merely a consistent and stalwart follower of Joseph Stalin and other revolutionary theorists without world-historical theoretical importance,[2] both camps failing to sufficiently criticize his errors. Many Marxist–Leninists regard Hoxha to be an opportunist and revisionist, and consider his many of his modern followers to make similar deviations.[3]

The term Hoxhaism is also erroneously used by many revisionists to attack anti-revisionist Marxist–Leninists, including those who oppose Hoxha.
