The Communist Party of the Philippines[a] (CPP) is a revolutionary communist party in the Philippines which upholds Marxism–Leninism–Maoism. It was formed by Jose Maria Sison on 26 December 1968.
The CPP, through its armed wing, the New People's Army, is currently waging a protracted people's war against the Filipino government to establish a socialist state.
