The Party of Labor of Albania (PLA)[a] was the ruling communist party of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania. The party was founded in 1941[b] during a national liberation war, and would assume the rule of the vanguard party of the Albanian people. It was an anti-revisionist Marxist–Leninist party with Enver Hoxha as its first secretary until 1985.[1] In 1991, the party was disbanded after its takeover by revisionists along with socialist Albania as a whole.
