The New People's Army (Filipino: Bagong Hukbong Bayan; abbreviated NPA or BHB) is the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). They have been waging a

History

Operations and Practices

The first same sex marriage in the Philippines was in 2005 and initiated by the New People's Army. They still commonly do same sex marriage ceremonies in their guerrilla camps in a country, majority conservative and catholic, that denies them such a right.[1]

Accusations and Lies targeting the New People's Army

Revisionists (especially Dengists and Trotskyists), anti-communists, and the Philippine old state have made numerous false accusations against the New People's Army in a way to discredit their protection of the people. These "evidences" have been used to label them as "Terrorists".

False Surrenders and "Child Soldiers"

A popular accusation used by the government is the New People's Army's recruitment of minors. Evidence of this is from accounts from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) showing alleged "NPA" fighters mostly consisting of innocent villagers, including children, surrendering to them. But in fact, most of "surrenders" were staged by the AFP to fasely show the weakening of the NPA and to make the claim.[2][3][4]And, ironically, the AFP has done alot more harm to innocence, especially children, from their constant false arrests.[5][6][7][8]

The New Peoples Army abide by rules of war in accordance with the United Nations and remains a principaled fighting force, protecting all people under their operations. whist there are children that do work for the NPA, there is no evidence that they were ever recruited into soldiers.[9]

Plaza Miranda Bombing (1971)

On August 21, 1971, a grenade was thrown at a Liberal Party rally at Plaza Miranda which killed nine people and injured several. Another accusation levied by the government and Trotskyists like Joseph Scalice is that the NPA was responsible for the attack. An "alleged eyewitness and first hand account" called Victor Corpus, a defector from the NPA and an opportunistic anti-communist traitor, made the myth popular and implied that an NPA agent threw the grenade.[10][11]

Jose Maria Sison has admitted that he was brought to Ferdinand Marcos by his military captors in 1977 to fasely conffess that an NPA brigade and the liberal Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino Jr. were responsible for the attacks, a request he refused even under torture.[12]The CPP has oppossed and condemned the actions of the perpetrators of the attack. [13] It also does not help that Ang Bayan, the CPP party newspaper, wrote a commemorative article condemning the attack.[14] It also does not help that Marcos does not shy away from false flag operations such as "Operation Everlasting".
