The Republic of China, also known as Taiwan, is a neoliberal and anti-communist rump state which formerly was the dominate government of China until its defeat by communists during the Chinese Civil War (1949), when it was forced into exile in the island of Taiwan.
History
The Republic of China was formed in a bourgeois revolution which overthrew the Qing Dynasty in 1912. By 1927, the ruling party of the ROC, the Kuomintang became a reactionary force representing the feudalists, bureaucrat capitalists, and landlords and turned on the communists, purging them and starting a civil war. The reactionary Kuomintang would eventually be overthrown in a communist-led revolution.
