The Republic of Albania, commonly known as Albania, is a bureaucrat capitalist state in the Balkan Peninsula of Europe. It is bordered by the Hellenic Republic to its south, North Macedonia and Kosovo to its east, and Montenegro to its north.

From 1946 to 1991, Albania was ruled by the Party of Labor of Albania as a nominal socialist state. Its main leader until 1985 was Enver Hoxha.
