The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is a secret police and state terrorist organization operated by the government of the United States. Since its formation in 1947, the CIA has committed numerous atrocities and crimes against humanity in the interests of American imperialism, including organizing coup d'états to overthrow elected governments,[1] physical and psychological torture,[2] human experimentation,[3] supporting fascist and anti-communist terrorist organizations and dictators,[4] rehabilitating and empowering Nazi officials and war criminals,[5] performing mass-surveillance,[6] and repressing socialist and left-wing movements.[7]
