The Maoist Communist Union (MCU) is a pre-party organization in the United States founded in 2020 which proclaims itself Marxist–Leninist–Maoist. Its theoretical publication is Red Pages.[1]
In February 2023, the MCU released a statement condemning Chairman Gonzalo of the Communist Party of Peru and what it termed "Gonzaloism".[2]
In January 2026, former members and affiliates of the MCU released a statement warning MCU affiliates about sexual misconduct on the part of its leader, Ryan Costell. This individual is said to have transformed the organization into a cult-like group.[3]
