"Theory becomes a material force as soon as it had gripped the masses" — Marx and Engels, Vol. I, p. 406
Theory refers to systematized ideas comprised of experience and knowledge gained from the material world, class struggle, and historical experience. Theory is closely related to praxis, and are dependent on each other for development; without theory, praxis can never go beyond ineffective and ad-hoc outbursts against the capitalist system, and without praxis, theory becomes a mere dogma detached from the people, material reality, and gains an abstract character which ultimately harms class struggle.
