Hammer and sickle used as a symbol of Naxalism

Naxalism is the application (Guiding thought) of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism to South Asia, primarily India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bengal and Manipur. The primary organization behind Naxalism is the CPI(Maoist). It is the guiding ideology of the ongoing People's war in India. It is named after the Naxalbari uprising, the peasant uprising which marked the beginning of the Indian revolution.[1]

Critisism

It is sometimes criticized by other Maoists for not giving enough credit to Gonzalo and the PCP in synthesizing Maoism and sometimes glossing over or ignoring the lessons of the Peruvian experience.
