National Democracy

National Democracy is a political ideology and movement in the Philippines in similarity with the concept of New Democracy of Mao Zedong Thought. It aims to establish a people's democracy in the Philippines with the Communist Party of the Philippines as its vanguard party and aims to address the root causes of injustice in Filipino society by confronting the three major problems of Imperialism, Bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism.[1] It also serves as the ideology of the Communist Party of the Philippines and the namesake of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.
Legal and Illegal National Democratic Organizations
Since the Duterte regime onwards, The Communist Party of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines have been proclaimed as "terrorist organizations" by the Philippine old state[2] and legal activists have been under attack due to red-tagging attacks[3][4] and the 2020 "Anti-Terror" Law. For the safety for progressive activists who are not affiliated with the CPP-NPA-NDF, it must be clarified that legal mass organizations are not and should not be directly affiliated or connected with the illegal armed struggle and organizations and that their actions are completely seperate and different from one another.
Legal National Democratic Mass Organizations
The legal National Democratic Mass Organizations engage in local and nationwide elections and engage legally in Philippine government. Some organizations are also common in North America and Europe amongst the Filipino Diaspora. In spite of their legal status, they refuse to condemn and instead fully recognize (but not fully support) the armed struggle of the New People's Army as it shows that imperialism, Bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism are still the root causes of injustice in their society.[5]

- League of Filipino Students (LFS)
- Gabriela Women's Party - Female empowerment partylist
- Bahaghari Philippines (Rainbow Philippines)-LGBTQIA+ empowerment organization
- Bayan Muna (Nation First) Partylist
- Kabataan Partylist - Youth empowerment partylist
- Anakpawis Partylist (Proletarian Partylist) - Partylist affiliated with KMU
- Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT)
- Student Christian Movement Philippines (SCMP)
- Karapatan (Alliance for the Advancement of Peoples' Rights)
Illegal National Democratic Organizations / Members of the NDFP
These organizations actively partake in armed struggle against the Philippine Government or help each other and do not partake in legal government actions (Aside from the GRP-NDFP peace negotiations).[6]
