Camilism, or Camilismo, and sometimes known as Camilo-Thought when used in relation to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and understood as a Guiding thought, is a Liberation Theology oriented ideology considered a composite of Marxism-Leninism and Christianity derived from the works of Camilo Torres Restrepo. A precursor to later, largely humanist Liberation Theology, Camilism seeks to directly uphold the Class analysis of Dialectical Materialism whilst retaining an explicitly Catholic philosophy and worldview. It stresses the necessity of adhering to Catholic moralism, including the need to "live with dignity" by adhering to Catholic teaching and the morality of Jesus Christ, which Camilo Torres interpreted as necessitating the usage of Socialist Revolution and Dictatorship of the Proletariat for a more Christlike and just society.
