Line struggle is the political practice within the party of open, principled disagreement with the explicit aim of clarifying ideas, correcting mistakes, and strengthening the line that guides mass work. Two-line struggle is a development made with Mao Zedong Thought and thus Maoism which is the application of the principle of the unity of opposites to the communist party.[1][better source needed]
