Naxalism is the application (Guiding thought) of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism to South Asia, primarily India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bengal and Manipur. The primary organization behind Naxalism is the Communist Party of India (Maoist). It is the guiding ideology of the ongoing People's war in India. It is named after the Naxalbari uprising, the peasant uprising which marked the beginning of the Indian revolution.[1]

Criticism

It is sometimes criticized by other Maoists for not giving enough credit to Gonzalo and the Communist Party of Peru in defining Maoism and sometimes glossing over or ignoring the lessons of the Peruvian experience.
