On Protracted War (simplified Chinese: 论持久战; traditional Chinese: 論持久戰; pinyin: Lùn chíjiǔ zhàn) is a 1938 work consisting of speeches made by Chairman Mao Zedong, given from May 26, 1938, to June 3, 1938, at the Yenan Association for the Study of the War of Resistance Against Japan. Mao Zedong in his work, calls for protracted war and debunks a naive "quick-win theory." The strategies outlined in the Chairman's work would be the basis for the Maoist concept of Protracted people's war.
